About Justine

Justine Teo is a Singaporean violinist based in Chicago. She completed her Post-Master’s Certificate with Janet Sung at DePaul University, and also studied with Almita Vamos and MingHuan Xu. She is a Violin Fellow of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and also performs with several ensembles in the region, including the Elgin, Peoria, and Northbrook Symphony Orchestras. 

A multi-faceted musician, Justine has performed in major venues including the Chicago Symphony Center, Harris Theater, the Auditorium Theater, and Fourth Presbyterian Church. Her performances have brought her to international stages in Taipei’s National Concert Hall and the Esplanade in Singapore. She was featured in a recording of “All Rise” with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, that was streamed on PBS as part of their documentary, “Chautauqua 150”. 

Justine has spent her summers at the Chautauqua Institution School of Music, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, Northwestern University’s Summer Violin Institute, and Dartington International Summer School. Apart from performing, Justine is a teaching artist with Apollo’s Fire at their Side-by-Side Strings Program, and an Ensemble Library Assistant at DePaul and Civic Orchestra.
